Family of Schools

John Clifford School is part of the Chilwell Family of Schools. The schools in the Family are:

We work together in many ways. The children come together to work and we take part in music, dance and sports events together. The teachers support each other and work together on a regular basis. The Headteachers and Deputy Headteachers work together every half term and curriculum groups also meet regularly to discuss teaching and learning across our schools in key subjects.

The SENCos from each school also meet termly to discuss children across the family and to allocate funding as necessary. The SENCos are led by the Family SENCO Carol O'Connor, who is based at The Lanes but works across all of the schools.

The Family of Schools, will challenge and support each other to provide opportunities within a safe environment for the children and young people of Chilwell and Beeston, that inspire and prepare them for a bright and successful future.

Headteachers

To lead in partnership, the delivery of education, for all 3 – 18 year olds, which ensures the continuum of consistent experience and curriculum enrichment promoting positive outcomes for all groups of pupils. We will strive to:

  • Establish, drive and succinctly articulate our shared vision.
  • Clearly define strategies that develop and support our collaborative model.
  • Inspire all stakeholders through shared practice, disseminated via professional and personal networks.

Heads of School, Deputy Headteachers, Assistant Headteachers

To develop and implement coherent teaching and learning and assessment strategies to raise standards for all groups through shared curriculum continuity and effective transition arrangements leading to positive outcomes for all groups of children. We will strive to:

  • Work collaboratively to support the implementation of the shared vision.
  • Lead and evaluate significant initiatives across the Family of Schools in response to local and national priorities.
  • Share best practice and disseminate this via professional and personal networks.

SENCO

To work collaboratively alongside the Family of Schools’ SENCo to support the aims and vision of the Family of Schools with respect to SEND. We will strive to:

  • Share best practice and disseminate this via professional and personal networks.
  • Work together to use delegated resources to support identified special needs of children in the Family of Schools.
